“The World’s Greatest” Marinade

by Craig Maltby for Club LT

Summer is the season for grilling – but not all grilling recipes are created equal. Some guys leave the heat too high. Others can’t tell their cumin from their cayene.

That’s why it’s good to be a member of the club.

If you’re grilling steak that weekend, here’s a marinade that’s gonna get ‘em talking. And asking for seconds.

•   ¼ cup olive oil
•   ¼ cup soy sauce
•   ¼ cup Dijon-style mustard
•   ¼ cup red wine
•   3 cloves garlic – diced
•   1 teaspoon black pepper
•   A pinch of salt

Mix this all together in a large bowl until well blended. It will work perfectly for 4 to 6 8-oz. beef filets or similar size steaks.

Pour marinade onto steaks in a re-sealable container and refrigerate for 4 to 8 hours prior to grilling. You can do more or less time, if needed.

Periodically brush a little leftover marinade on the meat as it’s grilling.

Whenever I use this marinade, my meal guests give a small gasp at that first bite as they experience a little burst of nirvana.

I got this recipe from somewhere else years ago. It was online, but I can’t remember where as I  memorized this long ago. So thanks to whoever originated this.
